Plan my countertops ↗A REAL PROJECT. USEFUL IDEAS.
Think about the kitchen and dining area as one daily routine. Our Sammamish project combines an island with a separate serving wall, giving preparation, drinks and meals their own useful places.

Sammamish, WA
The Sammamish kitchen uses white Shaker-style fronts, light counters and an island with seating. White hexagonal tile finishes the main work area. Along the dining wall, upper and lower cabinets, a serving counter and an under-counter beverage cooler create another working zone, finished with a dark hexagonal backsplash.
An additional cabinet run can help guests get drinks and dishes without crossing the cooking area. It also needs its own outlet, appliance-clearance and storage decisions.

Compare countertop and tile samples together. Discuss the material, edge, seams, backsplash layout and care requirements in your selections.

Coordinate pulls, faucets, pendants and task lighting with cabinet and appliance locations. Review the small transitions as part of the larger design.
Confirm who prepares the layout, selection schedule and any drawings, 3D views, architectural or structural documents your project needs. Design deliverables, professional fees, ordering responsibilities and allowances belong in the written scope.
Explore our design approach ↗DECISIONS BEFORE THE ORDERS
Map where groceries arrive, food is prepared and dishes are served. Keep the route to the table and any outdoor door in the conversation when sizing the island.
Choose between dish storage, a beverage area and small-appliance parking. Check door swings, counter space and the selected cooler dimensions before the cabinet order.
Look at kitchen and dining tile, hardware, flooring and light fixtures together. Repeated materials can connect the areas while a different backsplash gives the serving zone its own identity.

COMPARE THE COMPLETE SCOPE
Separate the main kitchen, island and optional serving wall in the proposal. This makes it easier to compare priorities and understand the additional cabinetry, appliance, countertop and electrical work.
GENERAL PLANNING RANGE
$20,000–$50,000Our broad kitchen remodeling guide. Your layout, selections and existing conditions determine the proposal.
HIGH-END RENOVATION
$75,000+Custom cabinetry, premium appliances, luxury finishes and a more involved scope can increase the investment.
Planning estimates, not fixed packages. Confirm cabinetry, counters, appliances, trade work, design, permits, disposal and tax, including exclusions and items you supply. Read the cost answer ↓
PLAN THE DOWNTIME
Coordinate the kitchen and serving-area orders so one unfinished cabinet run does not delay connected counters or backsplash work. Plan access to the dining area and exterior door during installation.
Our general start-to-finish planning range is 6–12 weeks. Design, permits, material lead times and structural work can extend it. Confirm ordering, on-site work and periods without a usable sink or cooking equipment separately for your project.
LOCAL PLANNING
The Sammamish Permit Center offers applications, forms and a project-guidance request route. Use those resources to discuss your specific alterations before finalizing the construction plan. Identify the full scope, including any dining-area changes, rather than describing the work only as cabinet replacement.
FROM FIRST IDEA TO FINAL DETAIL
We plan the work with you, then coordinate the people and details needed to bring it together.
Share your ideas, what isn’t working, your priorities, and the home we’ll be working in.

DURING CONSTRUCTION
Agree on access, surface protection, dust separation, pets and children, material storage and daily cleanup. Discuss a temporary food-preparation area and how the team will communicate changes.
Read homeowners’ feedback on Google Maps.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PLAN
It can be useful when drinks, dishes and serving take place outside the cooking zone. Our Sammamish project shows this arrangement beside the dining area. Compare the extra cabinets, appliance space and connections with the storage you would gain.
Yes, the scope can be planned around the kitchen and its connections. The published Sammamish project was a larger whole-house renovation with landscaping and a fence. Those additional improvements are not required parts of a kitchen-only proposal.
