Plan my countertops ↗A REAL PROJECT. USEFUL IDEAS.
Our Edmonds kitchen project is a useful starting point for comparing cabinet colors, island details and connected living spaces. Bring the decisions together before ordering individual finishes.

Edmonds, WA
The earlier Edmonds kitchen had dark wood cabinetry. The renovation introduced white upper cabinets, dark lower cabinets, light countertops, a veined backsplash and warm metal hardware. An illuminated wood-slat island front faces the living area, while a dark railing defines the adjoining stair opening.
A two-tone kitchen depends on the transitions: where the dark finish stops, how the counter meets the backsplash and which metal or wood details repeat in the adjoining space.

DESIGN & MATERIAL SELECTIONS
We help connect layout, storage, surfaces and lighting. Explore these design concepts to discuss the look, maintenance needs and investment that suit your home.

Review cabinet sizes, drawer and pantry needs, door profiles, finish samples and hardware before orders are finalized.

Compare countertop and tile samples together. Discuss the material, edge, seams, backsplash layout and care requirements in your selections.

Coordinate pulls, faucets, pendants and task lighting with cabinet and appliance locations. Review the small transitions as part of the larger design.
Confirm who prepares the layout, selection schedule and any drawings, 3D views, architectural or structural documents your project needs. Design deliverables, professional fees, ordering responsibilities and allowances belong in the written scope.
Explore our design approach ↗DECISIONS BEFORE THE ORDERS
Compare upper- and base-cabinet samples vertically with the counter and floor. Look at them in the room’s daylight and evening light rather than choosing each material separately.
Resolve seating, overhangs, panel thickness and accent-light access before installation. The island is visible from outside the cooking area, so its back and ends deserve the same attention as its drawers.
If the kitchen meets a stair opening or adjoining room, mark the affected rails, flooring edges and wall repairs. Keep this work explicit in the written scope.

COMPARE THE COMPLETE SCOPE
Compare the cabinet finish, island detailing, backsplash installation and adjacent repairs as separate decisions. The Edmonds portfolio is a whole-home project; its home size and planning timeline are not a kitchen price or kitchen-only duration.
GENERAL PLANNING RANGE
$20,000–$50,000Our broad kitchen remodeling guide. Your layout, selections and existing conditions determine the proposal.
HIGH-END RENOVATION
$75,000+Custom cabinetry, premium appliances, luxury finishes and a more involved scope can increase the investment.
Planning estimates, not fixed packages. Confirm cabinetry, counters, appliances, trade work, design, permits, disposal and tax, including exclusions and items you supply. Read the cost answer ↓
PLAN THE DOWNTIME
Approve the cabinet palette, countertop edges and backsplash layout together. Allow the installation sequence to account for surface preparation, cabinet setting, counter templating and final lighting details.
Our general start-to-finish planning range is 6–12 weeks. Design, permits, material lead times and structural work can extend it. Confirm ordering, on-site work and periods without a usable sink or cooking equipment separately for your project.
LOCAL PLANNING
Edmonds publishes permit assistance and application resources, including its MyBuildingPermit route. Share the proposed changes to walls, appliances and building systems when confirming the requirements. A finish palette does not by itself determine which approvals the project needs.
FROM FIRST IDEA TO FINAL DETAIL
We plan the work with you, then coordinate the people and details needed to bring it together.
Share your ideas, what isn’t working, your priorities, and the home we’ll be working in.
Review the layout, materials, and design details. Coordinate specialists and permits where needed.
Agree on the written scope, selections, pricing, and project-specific schedule before construction.
Our team coordinates trades and construction, keeping you informed as the kitchen takes shape.
Review the finished work and final details together, with our 2-Year Workmanship Warranty beyond completion.

DURING CONSTRUCTION
Agree on access, surface protection, dust separation, pets and children, material storage and daily cleanup. Discuss a temporary food-preparation area and how the team will communicate changes.
Read homeowners’ feedback on Google Maps.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PLAN
The effect depends on how the colors, counters, floor and lighting relate. Our Edmonds project uses lighter uppers, darker bases and repeated warm details. Review actual samples in the room and decide which surface should be the main focal point.
Yes. The published project identifies the earlier kitchen and the completed kitchen in the same Edmonds renovation. The viewpoints differ, so use the window, cooking wall and project walkthrough to understand the change. Selected finished photos have enhanced lighting.
