Plan my countertops ↗A REAL PROJECT. USEFUL IDEAS.
A lighter kitchen can still feel warm and practical. Our Bothell renovation pairs white cabinets and light counters with a wood-detailed island, offering a real example for your own finish and storage decisions.

Bothell, WA
The earlier Bothell kitchen combined wood cabinetry with dark counters. The finished room uses white cabinet fronts and light countertops, with wood detailing at the island. Pendant lights sit above the seating, daylight reaches the sink wall and darker stools and hardware give the lighter surfaces definition.
Changing a kitchen’s palette is also a chance to check its storage. Discuss the contents of each cabinet, the appliance openings and the island’s everyday use before choosing door colors.

DESIGN & MATERIAL SELECTIONS
We help connect layout, storage, surfaces and lighting. Explore these design concepts to discuss the look, maintenance needs and investment that suit your home.

Review cabinet sizes, drawer and pantry needs, door profiles, finish samples and hardware before orders are finalized.

Compare countertop and tile samples together. Discuss the material, edge, seams, backsplash layout and care requirements in your selections.

Coordinate pulls, faucets, pendants and task lighting with cabinet and appliance locations. Review the small transitions as part of the larger design.
Confirm who prepares the layout, selection schedule and any drawings, 3D views, architectural or structural documents your project needs. Design deliverables, professional fees, ordering responsibilities and allowances belong in the written scope.
Explore our design approach ↗DECISIONS BEFORE THE ORDERS
Record the parts of the existing arrangement that work. Compare replacing cabinets within that footprint with relocating appliances, plumbing or the island.
Measure the cookware, small appliances and pantry items that need a home. Decide on drawers, doors and tall storage from that inventory rather than from a showroom photograph alone.
Compare the island finish with the floor, nearby trim and table. Review the whole sample group so several warm finishes feel coordinated rather than accidentally mismatched.

COMPARE THE COMPLETE SCOPE
Compare a cabinet-and-surface update with a layout change using the same appliance and finish assumptions. Ask how demolition, existing-condition repairs, delivery and installation are included in each option.
GENERAL PLANNING RANGE
$20,000–$50,000Our broad kitchen remodeling guide. Your layout, selections and existing conditions determine the proposal.
HIGH-END RENOVATION
$75,000+Custom cabinetry, premium appliances, luxury finishes and a more involved scope can increase the investment.
Planning estimates, not fixed packages. Confirm cabinetry, counters, appliances, trade work, design, permits, disposal and tax, including exclusions and items you supply. Read the cost answer ↓
PLAN THE DOWNTIME
Check cabinet and appliance availability before scheduling removal of the old kitchen. Agree on temporary storage and where the refrigerator and basic meal preparation can be located during the work.
Our general start-to-finish planning range is 6–12 weeks. Design, permits, material lead times and structural work can extend it. Confirm ordering, on-site work and periods without a usable sink or cooking equipment separately for your project.
LOCAL PLANNING
Bothell provides a Permit Center and application forms for reviewing the proposed work. Confirm the authority for the exact property address before using a city application checklist. Include appliance relocations, walls and trade work in the scope discussion.

QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PLAN
Our Bothell example combines white cabinetry with a wood-detailed island, warm pendant lighting and darker accents. The balance comes from the full material group, including the floor and adjoining room, rather than the cabinet color alone.
No. Start by identifying what already works, then compare the storage and clearance gains available within the existing arrangement. Relocating the sink or appliances adds different trade work and should be evaluated as a separate option.
