Everett remodeling design. Let the house lead the update.
Keep a useful connection between original details and new decisions.
An older room and a newer addition may ask for different solutions within the same Everett home. We help organize the layout and selection decisions around those existing conditions, so the remodel has a coherent direction without erasing everything that came before.
Everett design priorities. Keep a useful connection between original details and new decisions
The house may contain more than one period of work. Separate useful original details from awkward later changes, then identify any exterior or historic-review questions that belong in the initial scope.
01 / MATERIALS & FINISHES
Document the existing layers
Bring photographs of the original rooms and later alterations. Distinguish a detail worth retaining from an awkward junction that the new work should resolve.
Your scope can include: a coordinated list of selections and finish decisions for the rooms being remodeled.
02 / LAYOUT & STORAGE
Use proportions before ornament
Compare cabinet height, trim width and the scale of fixtures with the room itself. A restrained set of details can feel more settled than copying a style label.
Your scope can include: layout priorities and cabinet or room-plan coordination, with drawings defined for your project.
03 / DESIGN THROUGH CONSTRUCTION
Check exterior and historic context
If the proposal changes windows, entries or other exterior elements, check the property's status with Everett's planning and permit resources. A historic overlay may involve review beyond an interior finish discussion.
Your scope can include: selections, approval points, and coordination with the relevant architect, engineer, or other design professionals.

The finished kitchen
White perimeter cabinets, a dark island, light counters, and under-cabinet lighting bring the working layout and finish palette together.
Photographs and drawing are from the Seattle project record, shown from different viewpoints. They illustrate this project; the documents and design services for your home are defined in your written scope.
The cabinet drawing records the relationship between storage, appliance positions, and the sink and cooking walls. In the completed kitchen, light perimeter cabinets and counters sit around a dark island; wood detailing connects the kitchen to the adjoining dining space.
White upper cabinets, dark base cabinets, warm metal hardware, and an illuminated wood-slat island create contrast in the Edmonds kitchen. Related wood tones and dark accents continue through the stair railing and fireplace details, connecting the rooms without making every space identical.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Everett design questions for an existing house
Use these questions to define the design support, property review and decisions for your Everett home before selecting the full construction scope.
Should an Everett exterior change be checked for historic review?+
Yes, establish the property's status before fixing the design direction. Everett publishes historic-overlay guidance, and exterior work in a designated area may have additional review. The actual parcel and proposal determine the requirements; not every Everett house is treated the same.
Can design guidance help blend an Everett addition with older rooms?+
We can discuss the relationship between retained materials, openings, storage and new finishes. Any architectural or structural work needed to achieve the arrangement must be identified separately and included only when agreed with the appropriate professionals.
What should lead the first Everett design discussion?+
Bring photographs of the original rooms and later alterations. Distinguish a detail worth retaining from an awkward junction that the new work should resolve. Bring photos, any existing plans and the features you want to retain so the conversation starts with the actual home.
Can we bring existing plans to the design discussion for my Everett home?+
Bring the plans and identify which decisions are already made. We discuss the support still needed for layout, materials and construction coordination. Architectural drawings, engineering, renderings and permit documents are included only when explicitly agreed; existing plans may need review for the proposed work.
Are the images on this Everett page all local completed projects?+
No. The documented room-to-plan-to-finish sequence is from Seattle, and other projects retain their actual locations. Illustrative plans, moodboards and bathroom references are labeled as inspiration. They show design ideas and workmanship references, not completed Everett work or a ready-to-build plan for your address.
How does the Everett design direction connect to construction?+
We identify the choices and professional responsibilities needed to carry the agreed direction into your Everett remodel. Product selections, approval points and construction scope should remain connected. Construction work is backed by a 2-Year Workmanship Warranty, with the applicable terms reviewed in the project documentation.
Bring the Everett address, the rooms you want to change and a few photos or plans. Tell us what works today and what needs to feel different.
Keep a useful connection between original details and new decisions. We will confirm the design help, responsibilities and next decisions for the actual home.

An industrial city's housing, approached one house at a time
Everett was planned as an industrial city in the 1890s and incorporated in 1893. Its growth left homes from different periods rather than one uniform housing type. That variety is a reason to investigate before selecting finishes. Note the proportions of openings, the condition of retained woodwork and the connection between original rooms and later changes. Where an exterior proposal touches an Everett historic overlay, the applicable design review also belongs in the early conversation; interior inspiration alone does not settle that question.
